The Bekament Foundation supported the campaign to collect aid for the monasteries of the Šumadija Diocese

Bekament Foundation joined the campaign of the Police Administration of Kragujevac in collecting aid for 23 monasteries of the Diocese of Šumadija, whereby it donated packages of food products and soft drinks, for basic needs, intended for their residents.

The General Manager of Bekament company, Mr. Dejan Čolović, handed over a donation on behalf of the Bekament Foundation and on that occasion pointed out that in the fight against a global pandemic, the clergy also need help, because due to the curfew, believers are not able to attend liturgies and leave donations through which churches and monasteries are mostly financed.

Bekament Foundation supported this initiative of the Police Administration of Kragujevac, but even at the beginning of the fight against COVID-19, it itself initiated an action of collecting funds intended to help the health system in the Municipality of Arandjelovac in order to preserve the health of medical staff as one of the most risky groups. Since the start of the campaign, funds in the amount of RSD 700,000 have been collected, used for the purchase of the first contingent of medical protective equipment.

In addition to priority assistance to medical staff, the Bekament Foundation also provided support to the Police Administration in Kragujevac in the form of a donation of protective health equipment, in order to preserve the safety of employees in their daily work tasks.

Also, in the fight against the pandemic, the Bekament company joined and sent a donation in the amount of RSD 4 million to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, in favor of the Republic Health Insurance Fund to ensure adequate equipment for the health system of Serbia.

Bekament Company and Bekament Foundation, as socially responsible institutions, will certainly continue to provide support where it is most needed through their humanitarian work.

Show solidarity. Take care of each other.

New Year's interview: review of business in 2019 and plans for the coming year

Dejan Čolović, the owner of the company Banja Komerc Bekament

How do you assess the business of your company in 2019?

– Bekament’s business is guided by the principles of sustainable development and is focused on constant investment in technological innovation and human resources. By recognizing and following the growing needs of the domestic and foreign markets, we have significantly improved our production capacities in the last few years. New factory plants for the production of styrofoam, powder materials and liquid products, the most modern in this part of Europe, have been opened. The production capacity of the styrofoam factory is 500,000 m3/year, and the production capacity of powder materials and liquid products has been increased to 350,000 t/year. The most advanced automated storage system has also been installed. A clear vision and strategy led to the growth of revenues in 2019, which was achieved by improving existing and launching new products, market penetration and entering new markets.

What would you highlight as a significant moment in the business of your
company?

– We were aware of the necessity of digitalization back in 2014 when we successfully implemented Micosoft AX. Last year, we went a step further and introduced all the key modules of the SAP ERP business system that standardized processes and further raised the level of efficiency and productivity. The WMS automatic storage system has also been successfully introduced, and implementations of the DMS-Document Management System and the TMS-Transport Management System are in preparation.

– In order to strengthen the brand and the company’s reputation, a repositioning was performed in 2019, which included a new marketing strategy and a change of visual identity. The brand architecture was redefined and the packaging was redesigned.

– An important element in the company’s business included the improvement of the organizational structure, starting from the highest level of management through the strengthening of existing divisions and the formation of new ones, which will ensure even better business results in the future.

What are your plans for next year?

– Taking into account that the foundations of the business strategy were strengthened during 2019, and guided by macroeconomic indicators, as well as the growing needs of the market, we believe that new perspectives open up for further steps in conquering the European market.

– There are also plans for opening new production plants. There will be opportunities to talk about that topic as well.

What changes in the market do you expect in the coming years and how should companies prepare?

– The expansion of the real estate and construction markets is greater than ever. There was an increase in real estate sales, which is 12% higher than in the same period last year, with a price increase of 10%. In this regard, constant adjustment and flexible response to market trends should be an imperative to act with continuous improvement of products and quality of relationships in the business chain. The focus should also be on increasing employee satisfaction and motivation by providing access to new knowledge and creating opportunities for professional advancement.

Bekament supported Nurdor and the "take a step" action

The Bekament Company has joined as a donor to the humanitarian action “Step forward” (Serbian: Pruzi korak), organized by the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR), to raise funds for the construction of parent accommodation in Belgrade.

The organization of such an important diplomatic visit included a meeting and a tour of the factory complex.

NURDOR has existed since 2003 and it has significantly improved the pediatric oncology sector in Serbia. Today, the Association has more than 1,000 volunteers all over Serbia and a huge number of successfully implemented projects.

At the moment, NURDOR has five parent and family accommodation centers in Belgrade, Nis, and Novi Sad.

Parent and family accommodation provides accommodation to families from other regions of Serbia whose children require treatment in one of these cities, and who are not able to find an adequate accommodation for themselves.

Family accommodation makes family members feel at home and helps children not to be deprived of their childhood, and parents not be deprived of their dignity.

The application “Step forward”, the pillar of this humanitarian project, counts the steps a person takes and converts them into dinars. Following that, socially responsible companies in Serbia “purchase the steps” and in that way make a donation to NURDOR for the construction of a new parent accommodation center in Belgrade.

Anyone can join a campaign, follow its course, and make their contribution by downloading “Step forward” mobile app on the Google Play Store/App Store.

As a socially responsible company, Bekament supports humane initiatives that are designed to improve the quality of life, and above all, those aimed at caring for people and society as a whole.
