Eurofins certificates – a guarantee of indoor air quality

IN THE MODERN LIVING CULTURE, INCREASING IMPORTANCE IS GIVEN TO FACTORS AFFECTING HEALTH, AND AIR QUALITY IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ONES, WITH THE TENDENCY TO AVOID PRODUCTS THAT RELEASE HARMFUL POLLUTIONS THAT CAN LEAD TO VARIOUS COMPLICATIONS. IN ADDITION TO THAT, ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS HAVE IMPOSED THEMSELVES AS A NEED FOR AN INCREASINGLY GROWING GROUP OF CONSUMERS.

The Bekament company is at the end of 2022. received significant EUROFINS Indoor Air Comfort (IAC) and Indoor Air Comfort Gold (IACG) certificates for three products from the Interior category - paints for interior walls, which are characterized by low VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions.

IAC and IACG certificates generally recognized in Europe are awarded by the multinational company EUROFINS, which has implemented a reliable and efficient model based on which not only products are controlled, but also the entire management and quality control system, as well as the production process. For the purpose of final certification in the previous period, the company Bekament conducted a series of examinations and annual tests on paints for interior walls. As a final result, certificates were obtained for the products: BK-Gold, BK-Pol and BK-Crystal, which meet the demanding European regulations for low VOC emission, and in accordance with the EN 16516 standard, thus guaranteeing that their application will ensure a healthy environment in the interior and high quality of air.

The product BK-Gold (high-coverage dispersion for interior walls) was awarded the IACG (Indoor Air Comfort Gold), while the products BK-Pol (dispersion for interior walls) and BK-Crystal (high-coverage water-washable dispersion for interior walls) were awarded the IAC (Indoor Air Comfort).

Having in mind the extremely strict and restrictive parameters on which it is based, the IACG certificate confirms the product's compliance with VOC emission threshold values:

This prestigious certification is an additional confirmation of the fact that the company Bekament is one of the most technologically advanced companies for the production of materials for finishing construction works.

Interview with Bekament's Director of Domestic and International Sales for Ton magazine

BOJAN ŠVONJA

Director of Domestic and International Sales

1. What is your company's financial turnover this year, expressed as a percentage, compared to last year for the territory of Serbia in dinars, and how does this compare in terms of quantities of goods compared to last year, also for the territory of Serbia?

This has been quite a challenging year, as global economic events have significantly impacted the construction market, requiring a quick response and business adjustment on our part to the new situation. The goal was to mitigate the negative impact of this trend as much as possible, to protect our partners, and to remain a reliable support for them. As a result, we have increased our customer base and expanded cooperation with existing partners. Wrapping up 2022, I can say that Bekament has not only recorded a financial growth of 25%, partially influenced by price adjustments due to inflation, but also a real growth in quantities. It is important to highlight that we are particularly proud of the exceptional results in categories that were our focus in the past year.

2. What are your company's plans regarding quantities of goods and financial turnover for next year?

The opening of a factory for the production of extruded polystyrene and the expansion of the existing liquid products factory with two new production lines represent significant investments that marked the milestone year 2022, in which Bekament also celebrated 30 years of successful business. To achieve this, one focus is to further strengthen our Bekament team, primarily by advancing existing personnel, and then by expanding through hiring new employees. We are aware that this is a long-term process, which we have already started with the goal of creating a stimulating work environment where each employee feels a sense of community and belonging to a system that cares for them.

3. What do you see as the biggest business challenges for 2023, and what advice would you give to Ton readers on this matter?

It is evident that our society is becoming more mature, and human capital is increasingly sought after. Despite the modernization of procedures and the automation of processes, quality personnel remain the most important link in the business sphere, which requires continuous special attention. Additionally, I expect the stabilization of raw material, energy, and other dependent markets to be an unavoidable topic next year, so we can plan our business more reliably. Source: Ton magazine
