BK-Concrete Style is a mineral thin-layer decorative mortar intended for the protection and decoration of interior wall surfaces and gives the visual effect of fresh concrete. It is characterized by good adhesion to the substrate, exceptional workability and high strength.
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
The surface on which the mortar is applied must be firm, dry and clean, without loose joints and greasy stains. Before applying the decorative plaster, coat the substrate with BK-Grund Universal. In the case of highly absorbent substrates, it is recommended to coat with BK-Nivelator, while in the case of weak and dilapidated substrates, the surface must be coated with BK-Penetrat before applying the mortar. The drying time of the substrate before applying the mortar is min. 12 h. The preparation of the material is done by adding 20 kg of powder in 5.8-6.4 l of water, with constant stirring until complete homogenization. Leave the mass to stand for 10 minutes, then stir again to obtain a mixture of suitable density. Apply the mortar in two layers, using a stainless steel trowel. Apply the first layer evenly, in order to get as flat a surface as possible. The second layer applied to the dried first layer. The total thickness of the layers should be about 1.5-2.0 mm. The desired texture is created immediately after applying the second layer of mortar, using a steel trowel with rounded edges or using a BK-Travertino comb. The final treatment is approached in 15-20 minutes after applying another layer, i.e. as soon as the material begins to dry. Subsequent painting of BK-Concrete Style mortar is done with a transparent coating of BK-Velatura. In the case of work at high temperatures as well as in the case when the mortar has been dried for a long time, it is recommended to pre-coat the surface with BK-Penetrate. If you do not want to change the color of the plaster, BK-Concrete Style can be protected with BK-Aquaphobe. See product data sheet for more detailed instructions.
TEMPERATURE OF APPLICATION
The air and substrate temperature during installation should be in the range of +5 ºC to +30 ºC. After 6 h of drying under normal conditions (T = + 23-25 ºC, 50-60% r.v.v.) the mortar is dry to the touch, and after 24 h it can be painted.
About 2.0-2.5 kg / m2 depending on the technique and thickness of the coating.
